Generally, you work ridiculous hours. Burnout becomes second nature, and the company really doesn't care about its employees. Several of my now ex-colleagues have been laid-off, or let go because of toxic management with no clear feedback, ethical principles followed - simply just because a manager in the US doesn't like them. There isn't any clear leadership and an overall lack of transparency. The US and UK teams completely view the Remote South African teams as cheap labour. And good luck trying to get any response on JIRA tickets from Engineers or Finance. You'll be left having to face your abundant portfolio of clients with no clear answers or feedback to their problems.
