Pros

If you get a good client list at a good station, you can make a lot of money and have fun.

Cons

They weren't upfront about the fact that I would have to provide my own computer for work, prior to hiring. I originated several clients on my own and senior sales people would take claim over them and eventually take the sale from me even if I had done most of the work. My 1st day on the job my colleagues made it very clear that they were not happy about my being there. They felt the accounts should have been spread out among them rather than hiring a new person. They took out their frustration on me. I worked overtime and was not paid, although this is illegal. BAnk of America was sued by 3000 sales people in 2006 for not paying commissioned employees overtime. The corporation seems to enhance competition against one another rather than creating a team envirnment. Many people seemed to be very unhappy with their jobs or burnt out and could not manage to reply when I would say "good morning". I brought the issue regarding the teams resentment to my managers attention and nothing was done to resolve the issue. It was basically a nightmare!....not to mention the fact that radio has suffered trememndous losses in the stock market and that pressure was apparent at every turn, the top senior management allowed the negativity and pressure to overwhelm their empoyees. In addition, we had quotas for our interactive department but this manager was also quite unable to take a single moment to answer questions about this product. When he did find the time to talk, you could guarantee he would first say something so sarcastic and rude you just might want to cry....then he provided whatever answer he wanted and told you to leave...regardless of whether he had been understood or if he had even taken the time to listen to your question in order to answer it correctly. Dont work there if you enjoy being happy and treated like a human being.

Pros

The company had really good happy hours and events to attend. Food almost everyday.

Cons

Awful management team. Everyone will plot against you if they see potential. Very political culture and one boss there is a weak male figure in the office. If he doesn’t like you all the other managers follow suit. Mind you he has no power at all yet managers at his same level report to him. Must be experienced to work there really come in with a book of business with accounts that have lots of money because that’s all they care about. They will use and abuse you then cast you to the side make sure you have a second job to lean on. Frequent layoffs no managers of color either. Lots of red flags in the begging do not ignore them.
