Pros

Fantastic local team who are all helping each other Decent salary with van and fuel card

Cons

Communication has big issues, you will be sent on jobs with minimal (or even no) information on what needs doing Very short notice for some jobs even when not urgent/emergency. No clear progression path or training. When you leave you will be treated like dirt.

Pros

Flexible remote working (if you're self-motivated and experienced) Opportunity to gain independence in your role Friendly team (when you do get the chance to interact)

Cons

Remote working isn’t for everyone, and unfortunately, at this company, it can be quite isolating. If you’re based near the head office in Cornwall, it’s much easier to build relationships and feel like part of the team. However, for those who primarily work remotely, there’s little effort made to actively include or engage you in the company culture. There’s a definite need for the company to improve how they support and integrate remote employees. You're often left to your own devices, which can be overwhelming—especially if you're new to the role or the field and need guidance on technical aspects. More structured support or onboarding for remote staff would make a big difference. Company events, like the Christmas party, are always held in Cornwall, with no offers to cover travel or accommodation for those based further afield. Now that the company has partnered with a Somerset-based business, there’s hope this might change and bring more balance to how all employees are considered. In terms of progression, pay increases are limited. You receive a raise after completing the 6-month induction, but beyond that, there are no regular appraisals or check-ins to discuss performance, development, or career goals. This lack of feedback can leave you feeling undervalued and disconnected from any path for progression.
