Pros
My manager and all the supervisors were great. Very chill, fun, good people to work with. I looked forward to going in and seeing them, and even doing boring stuff like cleaning was made more enjoyable. Most of the customers were nice too, and the tips raised how much I made by $2-3 an hour.
Cons
Like the title says. Corporate is a mess. They would come in and find something to complain about, even if we were doing great. Nothing was ever good enough and they loved to come throw their weight around and nitpick. It was obnoxious. But that was tolerable - until they stopped paying us on time. That's right. Direct deposits didn't go in on the day they were supposed to, it took two or three extra days for the money to show up in our accounts. When questioned (via a very patient and apologetic manager, who had nothing to do with it and nothing to apologize for), their reason was that they have "cash flow issues and the employees should understand." Um, I make $8.25 and you don't pay me on time, and I'm supposed to understand? I'm sure THEY all got paid perfectly on time, every time. And they never came in to apologize, not once. My paycheck was never correct - it was either late or they didn't up my pay from the training rate or forgot to add tips or some other issue. I quit after a couple months, and two months later they closed the branch of my store (despite telling everyone there they wouldn't) with three days notice to the people still working there.
