Pros
Casual dress code, general autonomy throughout the workday, some employees are able to listen to music. A number of employees become friends and know each other outside of work. Monthly meetings allowing employees to ask questions of our CEO anonymously.
Cons
It generally takes a long time to get your first raise or promotion. There is obvious management favoritism among select employees. Little room for internal growth. It's not apparent what will cause someone to pass or fail their probationary period in a new job here. Insufficient parking and lunchtime seating for the growing number of employees. Evaluation standards seem to change every two or three fiscal quarters (there is no well-established standard for job performance in the long term). Management doesn't seem eager to keep old employees; employees generally feel somewhat disposable and easily replaced. Partial health insurance. A number of employees are initially quite friendly and happy to work here, and then become frustrated within months. In some departments, there's been a push for overtime for two years straight, and in other departments, where people are paid on salary, everyone generally looks exhausted. Turnover is somewhat high.
