Pros

My team is one of the best I've ever worked with. There's a spirit of solidarity and caring for colleagues, and of helping one another get the job done. Really good boss, whose values are reflected in the team he's recruited. The work can be interesting and sometimes very impactful. Pay is decent.

Cons

Beware of corporate processes and functions. Some of the more senior leaders treat employees in a condescending manner, with a failure to adhere to a pie-in-the-sky strategy and unfeasible financial targets being classed as an inability to perform. Steep divide between stated corporate values , on the one hand, and the actions of the company on the other. Words like diversity and environment are frequently used in corporate speeches, but there is little understanding of the topics at the higher levels. Money is the only success metric in the company. Speaking up is punished, there's absolutely no system to share one's opinion or to provide feedback to senior leaders.

Pros

dss+ is a 6-year old carve out, making it an exciting place to join while it is still forming. This provides great opportunities to learn and grow while contributing to a global organization built around the purpose of saving lives. Firm values are deeply embedded and brought to life in a real way unique compared to other organizations, and people truly care about each other. For those looking for a growing firm with a global footprint, this is a great place to start/continue your career. Benefits are the best of any organization I've worked at in a multi-decade career.

Cons

As a newer firm, some foundational elements are still being built - this can be exciting and viewed as an opportunity for some and may be challenging for those used to more mature organizations who like established systems, processes, and procedures.
