New CEO talks about letting good people do good thinks (empowerment) - make the right decisions - but unfortunately she doesn't walk the talk. Micro-managing style of the CEO squashes innovation and thought leadership. No decision at BB7 is made without review - any typically change - by the CEO. This ultimately silences a group of high talent that was formerly encouraged and free to express, into a group that is silent - withholding input because they know it won't be received well or implemented. My first few months at BB7 saw great input when asked to volunteer ideas, my last few saw almost zero input from executive and director level staff. It's amazing how a single personality can transform what once was fertile ground for collaboration into a dictatorship of outdated ideas forced into an industry that only flourishes through collaboration. One of the executive staff described the management style of the new CEO as a 'witch-hunt'.
