Pros

Consulting / Tableau consulting is fun, challenging, and satisfying. It will help you grow your technical and business skills. If you're independent and skilled you can mostly work on your own and manage your own clients. If you are just contracting and not expecting consistent hours / jumping into any of the internal issues this could be a cool way to get in some side project consulting hours.

Cons

At the beginning of 2023 there was a change in management which changed the entire atmosphere of being on the consulting team. It went from a culture of trust, respect, transparency, and all around feeling like you were important - to pretty much the opposite. The company has pivoted away from services towards their internal products. The goal now is to push the etl tool and portals onto every single customer - without much thought about excellent services. Over half of the consulting team that was on board at the start of the year is now gone - I personally started looking just a few months after the management changes because my paycheck was unsteady, the company was not investing at all in any development for me, and I found the environment that management had created to be negative and inconsiderate of consultants. It was very unfortunate to see such a smart and dedicated consulting team be pushed to the side and treated like an afterthought. When we tried to voice our concerns about the large, negative changes to executives we were made to feel like we were just causing problems. They did not seem to listen at all.

Pros

I had an incredible experience working at Zuar. The company culture is fantastic, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. The management team is approachable and genuinely cares about the well-being of their employees. The work-life balance is commendable, with flexible working hours and a strong emphasis on maintaining a healthy balance. Additionally, the team is composed of talented and driven individuals who are always willing to help and share their knowledge.

Cons

One aspect to consider is that the teams are relatively small, so you need to be comfortable juggling multiple tasks at once. This can make the work demanding, but it's also a great opportunity to develop time management and multitasking skills. Overall, Zuar is a great place to work at!

Pros

Nice staff, remote work environment, minimal meetings that are not project related

Cons

Go to Market strategy is constantly in flux. New initiatives are often discussed without realization. At the end of the day, most work is just standard tableau build/ maintenance. Turn-over is high. There are a few long term employees with knowledge that is not easily shared. This leads to problematic management that results in lay-offs without strategy to grow.
