Pros
So most of us who work will work directly for a client. My client, is awesome. However; Zipdev does a few things I like: - In Mexico if I were were working for a nearshore company I would make about half of what I were making right now. So the pay is nice. - I've personally had some communication issues that I've had to work through and management helped me get better at that. ( personal growth ) - They want you to learn. They pay you nice bonuses to learn something. - We have monthly meeting with management and they really care if your happy with the work, if its too hard or not hard enough. We can give feedback. It's cool. - Time tracking is super simple. We use toggle and there are two types of time tracking: Detailed Activity Tracking, and General Time Tracking. I, personally, use General Time Tracking. I don't know who would use Detailed Activity Tracking but maybe it's for clients who request it. Basically I just need to turn on my timer when Im working and turn it off when I'm not. No mico management there.
Cons
To be honest, it's not really a con but the benefits. That's all re-reimbursed. - I need to find my own insurance and they pay me back.. but you get fat bonuses for paying yearly with the insurance companies and they just want to pay you each month. I wish ZipDev paid insurance directly. I also wish like most good dev shops here in Hermosillo, Mexico, pay insurance for you and your direct family. i.e. spouse, and kids.
