Pros
Great company to start out at. If you come in with no experience and expertise, they will pay well for comparable jobs out there. Taking care of the customer is truly the objective of this company.
Cons
If you come in as an expert or with experience in the field, you will need to strike a very delicate balance between setting aside your expertise and doing it according to Ziegler tribal practices. I've observed in multiple departments across the company that job descriptions rarely match what the language means in the wider industry. A steady stream of employees head out the door within the first 5 years. 50% of employees are 1-5 years on the job. There are virtually 0% who are 5-10 yr employees. And the remainder have been there for more than 10 years. Those who make it past the 10 yr mark are often not able to get a better salary elsewhere due to their education/rank profiles. Good technicians (w/out an MBA) get promoted to managerial positions until fired for poor management habits.
