Pros

They paid decently even though it was less than the other company at the project. You get 5 weeks in total PTO.

Cons

It has been the most unorganized workplace I’ve ever been to. The project has so many managers that it takes weeks for anything to get to the right person. For starters, I accepted the job & when I arrived, the people on site were not expecting me so I spent the 1st 2 weeks without a laptop and without a desk. I was hired for an “entry level” role but received absolutely zero instruction on how to do my job. The majority of my time was spent doing busy work for management because there was nothing for me to do. When they finally decided to assign contracts for me to manage, I was given very little instruction on how to do so. They gave me a 20 minute class on how to use their software and that was it. I was told to “sink or swim” instead of actually receiving help. The managers would talk to me like I was dumb for not knowing how to do things I was never taught to do. I was also talked down on for things out of my control. 6 months later I realized I had learned absolutley nothing in my time there because nobody would take the time to actually teach me and left. The employees of the other company we worked with were a hundred times more helpful than what the employees at Zachry were. I tried my best to learn as much as possible, but Zachry doens’t care about new employees. They lied about the work hours and expect you to work more than what you’re compensated for so theres also that.

Pros

Some other employees were friendly.

Cons

Human Resource personnel on site in small CT office (1 wo/man show)and even in corporate office need to be re-educated on ethics, harassment, discrimination and in general and basic employment laws in general how to treat employees as human beings. No trust. Even if you quit, if new employer calls to verify employment do not be surprised if they say you were terminated. Fair warning.
