Pros

Strong team spirit, friendly colleagues

Cons

Individuals are scared of falling foul of a certain senior manager who can make your life a misery if your face doesn’t fit. People aren’t treated fairly, expected to work excessive hours for little pay. Very stressful atmosphere, people worried about being sacked for no reason.

Pros

If you enjoy waterfall development, big bang releases that take many many years, and working in an environment where software is an afterthought, this is the place. Pros: * Some good colleagues * Job security (for now)

Cons

There’s no leadership or structure for developers, we all report into business-led projects run by project managers with little to no technical understanding. Micro managed through short cuts that back fire lead by a non technical leadership team and then blamed by the MD. We know what he thinks of us. There’s no roadmap, no real CI/CD pipeline, and software is delivered through long, cumbersome manual phases in chaotic environments. Non-functional requirements are treated as an afterthought, and technical debt piles up without documentation or strategy to resolve. Skilled voices are ignored, there's no investment in people or technology, and leadership lacks any background in building or scaling software. It’s a top-down, closed-door culture with no real ownership of software assets. Morale is low, compensation is below industry standards, there are no bonuses, and HR is outsourced. Software is not a stakeholder here, we’re just there to hit deadlines, often set without understanding or respect. Avoid if you're looking for a modern, developer-friendly environment. Cons: * No software leadership * Outdated practices * Poor pay and benefits * Toxic delivery culture * Zero strategic vision for IT * No career ladder, promotional opportunities or ability to increase your salary. * If the training you need isn’t on pluralsight then you won’t get it approved.
