Pros

This is a website for honest reviews – not those prompted by the boss to try to counteract the actual reviews. The date stamps give it away. These reviews help those looking to make a decision about their livelihood, family, and overall quality of life. Shame on those who use this as marketing tool and water down authentic, helpful feedback. The question to ask yourself is why is the turnover so high? There is a reason, and it's not because employees couldn't "cut it". Each one that I've worked at has been at the top of their game, but decided it just wasn't worth it. It's no coincidence that out of the 9-10 people on the website currently, three don't really work there but look good for the website's appearance & four more have been there less than a month. Only 2 people that do the technical and creative work have been there longer than a year. This sincerely isn't to bash the company for fun. But, that's data folks, and it should speak for itself. There are reasons. Optimism is a great trait. Maybe these authentic reviews will get through to management. But currently, as someone stated below, ask a previous employee (someone with no conflicts of interest or incentive to "sell" you on the position to get another body in the door). The YCP culture sounds great and reads great on paper, that's why I and many other seasoned professionals worked there, but dig deeper before risking your livelihood. The work is there, the opportunity is there. Will it be worth it though?

Cons

- Lots of bait & switching and word manipulation, especially to get you on board. (for example: prompted, pressured reviews.) -Unhealthy environment (Notice in the reviews, one constant is the coworkers. This is because most of them are going through the same dynamics and you do grow closer.)

We're sorry you thought differently about this. You might not realize this but several employees who had left reviews already wanted to encourage their peers to tell about their great, positive experiences they had. This idea wasn't initiated by anyone on the management team (it wasn't even known until later actually) - it was all employee led so if they felt pressured from a teammate we would imagine that probably wasn't the intent. We're sorry if you felt that way. Please reach out if we can clarify anything here for you!

Pros

I'll tell you why I'm frustrated in a moment but before that, I want to mention that this is seriously a great place to work and no one asked me to write this review. So please don't listen to the few disgruntled employees. There is always a different side to every story. The internet tends to skew reality because people can hide their identity and make jabbing comments without context. I've been self-employed for the past 10yrs before coming to work at YCP. There has always been this lingering fear that getting a job would be a step back or that I would somehow lose my freedom. However, this has been the complete opposite for me and I've been able to do both! So why am I frustrated? I'm frustrated because I listened to those thoughts in my head before giving this place a shot. I'm frustrated because I didn't join this place sooner! After coming to work here it has seriously been a breath of fresh air for me and my family. The people at YCP are such a pleasure to work with! They care deeply about people and they have a moral compass about where they are going! As a dad of 4 kids I can say the work/life balance here is really nice! Most agencies make you take work home or work crazy hours to meet ridiculous deadlines. That has been the exact opposite from my experience. The atmosphere is fun, laid back and easy going. Don't get me wrong, we get our work done and do things with excellence. If you love The Office (the show), you like Coffee, you do great work, and you don't take yourself too serious - You will THRIVE here!!!

Cons

The guy next to me sometimes brings in his stinky egg salad sandwich to work and takes slow agonizing bites throughout the day. I've been telling HR but no one is listening to me. Chill, I am being sarcastic but it's kind of true. ;)

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We’re always striving to provide clarity and transparency about the expectations of our roles and the opportunities available to our team members. When you joined our team, you understood you would be stepping into a senior creative leadership position, one with a clear job description that required strong skills across digital design, branding, and campaign development—core areas of our agency’s client work. While you presented yourself as multi-faceted in these areas, once you joined, it became clear your skills were primarily limited to smaller graphic design projects which limited your effectiveness for our clients. We worked with you for a year, but your skills created significant gaps in client delivery (often missing deadlines or delivering to the wire) and required each of our other three team leads to step in at various times to cover gaps or to coach you through feedback. They had to juggle their roles and some of yours. We provided multiple opportunities for growth, including a 90-day formal development plan with creative coaching sessions from an experienced Creative Director and consistent feedback. Unfortunately, the required improvements weren’t met within that timeframe, even after extending to you an extra month. As a final help, we offered you an alternative designer role on the team with adjusted expectations, which you declined. Ultimately, for the sake of our clients and team, we needed to bring in a new Creative Director, who has since been successful in the role now for several years. We regret that the role didn’t work out as originally intended. Our business relies on delivering top-quality creative work for our clients, and maintaining that standard is central to our values. We wish you the best in your future career endeavors!
