Pros

- If it's your first job out of college, it's not THAT bad. - The other AE's are cool, as are the VP's.

Cons

- Pay is awful compared to other tech companies in Dublin - Middle management are nigh on clueless, they just happened to have a bit of tenure when promotions came up. - Those good people I mentioned in the pros: chances are they will all leave or get fired within 6 months - It almost seems like they thrive on the revolving doors policy in management, I've seen too many people get walked out with little or no warning by management who up until that point were friendly with them - The company doesn't seem to be growing in Europe, so there aren't any opportunities to progress within the company. - I've had a few interviews, and other companies don't seem to value the sales experience very highly at all. - Most companies claim they treat their employees really well, and Yelp is no exception. Empty promises here. You get treated like a child. - Oh, and you have to make 80 calls a day and drown in Kul-Aid

Pros

Great coworkers who genuinely care about one another and many front-line managers do their best to support their teams despite constant organizational challenges. The company can provide valuable experience in sales, customer retention, and learning how to operate in a very fast-paced environment.

Cons

Compensation is far below market despite leadership positioning it as competitive, with commission structures that are unpredictable and often unattainable. Job security feels entirely dependent on management style rather than consistent standards, with some employees coached fairly while others are disciplined or terminated over minor mistakes. The sales organization creates significant downstream issues through aggressive sales practices, forcing retention teams into highly reactive customer conversations. Attrition is the worst I have experienced in my career, promotion into management often results in a pay cut for top performers, and the culture creates constant anxiety where employees feel like they are walking on eggshells. Top performers are often not the most skilled employees, but those who have learned how to manipulate loopholes and work around processes.
