Pros

work life balance, give ppl a real chance to do well with ramp up, trainings, and even PIPs I grew the most in my life at this job because I wanted to be great at it - they pay for coaching and have trainings all year round and offer learning stipends

Cons

my growth or experience is not recognized or appreciated at work, no growth opportunites, even promotions are a pay cut and harder work. they dnt care abt their employees only the #s, u cant be a top performer without cheating the system and the company knows, they will dispose of you once theyre no longer in need of you, will keep you if you're white. POC get fired at an alarmingly higher rate than white counterparts, they dnt care about loyalty and have moved out all employees who get paid anything more than pennies

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. First and foremost, racism is never tolerated in our organization, and we ask employees to come forward when they see this type of behavior at any time. We strongly believe that every employee not only has the right to come to work every day and feel a sense of belonging, but that they also deserve to see role models who look like them, and have the same opportunities and chance to succeed as their peers. We invite you to share further details of your experience with us by emailing employeefeedback@yelp.com. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback with us.

Pros

If you love your city, it can be very fun. Remote work is helpful and you'll make great relationships with fellow community managers, who are typically wonderful people.

Cons

As others have said, upper management is extremely out of touch with reality, including the realities of small businesses post-COVID. Pay is very under market for the level of work. Values are consistently preached but only selectively honored.

Thanks for sharing your experience after spending so many years on our team. We agree that connecting with your city and working alongside wonderful fellow Community Managers are some of the best parts of the role. We're also glad remote work was helpful for you. Favoritism and gossip don't align with the environment we want to create. We want everyone to feel valued and supported as a person. We also want to uplift team members who want to explore roles in other departments. We have many amazing opportunities across Yelp, and we encourage people to pursue the work they care about most. Your feedback helps us grow, and we will share your notes with our leadership team so we can keep making Yelp a better place to work. Thanks for all your hard work over the years, and we wish you the very best in your next role.
