Pros

With most things in life, you have to buy in and want to be a part of something. This company has a recipe for success that's laid out for their employees. You'll start out as someone who feels the need to ask for help. However, demonstrating your transition as someone who asks for help and becoming one who helps others are the kind of folks who ultimately find the most success. I began as an Associate Technical Account Manager in 2019 and spent 5 days per week in the office. The company moved to a remote work policy in March of 2020 to allow company operations to continue safely during the COVID-19 Pandemic. At this time, the company appears poised to make a gradual shift into a hybrid model. In 2021, I earned my professional account manager designation and was able to drop the "Associate" from my title. This also means that you become exempt salaried. This is somewhat of a technicality at Yardi Systems, but it did come with a nice pay increase after the uncertainty of mid to late 2020 had passed. During the 2022 review season, I was invited to interview for the role of Senior Technical Account Manager (STAM) after a top performance in 2021.The process was intensive and challenging, but allowed for a well-timed point of reflection and accomplishments made to that point in my Yardi career. I earned the STAM role, along with a very nice pay increase relative to where I started. The 2022 reviews resulted in numerous individuals receiving larger-than-expected pay increases due to the company leveraging an outside consulting firm to right-size salaries against similar companies having similar roles and job descriptions. The environment is truly collaborative. Everyone helps one another out when trying to resolve client issues. The company recognizes this collaboration when you log time to a case citing the assistance of a peer.

Cons

Despite the company right-sizing salaries, the company is still lagging a bit behind other peers in the tech space and the Atlanta market in particular. There's now a 1 day mandatory office requirement for all team members, with team leads and managers being asked to come in 2 days per week. The company moves people around quite a bit. In the last year, I reported to 6 different individuals across 4 different teams. They aren't back-filling roles when they place someone on a consulting practices team. Upper management will play musical chairs, then change the expectations and targets for employees.

It is wonderful to hear about your development and advancement during your 6+ year tenue with Yardi! We are happy to have a glimpse into your growth and accomplishments over the past few years. It is great to hear that you find us to be a company that values and recognizes talent, and that you enjoy our ‘truly collaborate’ work culture, the competitive pay increases, and your helpful and supportive colleagues. We know the value that comes with stability and strong professional relationships, and careful consideration is put into team reorganizations so we can continue to best support our employees while we meet changing business and client needs. Yardi has taken a compassionate and understanding approach to our hybrid work policy, and our current approach is to have employees on-site 1 day per week. This model considers the impact to our employees and allows for flexibility and balance in our personal and professional lives. We ask that you please give us the opportunity to provide clarity or additional support by scheduling time with our VP of Human Resources if you would like to discuss further.

Pros

If I were asked pros of this company in 2020 I would fill this entire space. Since COVID the company culture completely changed toward the negative. They have good affordable health and dental insurance. You get to leave 2 hours early on the day before a holiday. They will provide lunch in office once a week. You get to work a hybrid WFH schedule. They invest in your 401k whether you contribute or not.

Cons

Their pay is below market. I was a TAM and could have made $20k more per year with another company but wanted to stay with yardi because they weren’t publicly traded and were more stable. The culture became more stressful and toxic after covid. Yardi began a partnership with wework (see Hulu documentary) and then wework went belly up which yardi had to bail them out of. As a result yardi spent millions of dollars. To offset this terrible decision, Yardi started quietly firing people within the company. Basically, they were eliminating “overhead” without calling it layoffs because the word layoff scares clients and they’ll start looking for another software to use.

We truly care about your feedback and appreciate hearing from you though some of your experiences and observations are vastly different from what we hear from our talented Technical Account Managers worldwide. Regarding the 2022 WeWork partnership, Our CEO has a proven track record for making strong business decisions that result in continued growth and success for the company, and we were thrilled to debut a new space management solution through our ‘WeWork Workplace’ partnership which solves for a dynamic, constantly evolving future of work. We are proud to share that we have not participated in any company layoffs and have added serval thousand employees to the company in the past several years as we continue to grow. We take pride in our caring, respectful, and transparent culture and genuinely encourage anyone who feels negatively impacted by something to schedule time with the VP of Human Resources to further discuss. While we are sorry you weren’t a happier employee, we genuinely wish you all the best going forward.
