Pros
I work for a manager that trusts me to get the job done and provides me the autonomy to do it! That's precisely the kind of environment I know I thrive in and knew I wanted to be a part of. It's why I wanted to work here. I believe that's something we do very well here at FE - hire people we know can do the job and trust them to do it while providing the tools that allow them to be successful. Another thing I enjoy about working at FE - we help people grow in their careers internally. We look within when hiring for most any role and have promoted multiple people across the organization! We're in a position where we are growing so fast that we need to look both internally and externally, but I think it's a great mix that will continually better our culture. When someone isn't thriving in a role, we don't immediately look to fire the person, but look for other opportunities that they might be able to perform better in! Right now, I think we're going through some changes that are going to allow us to grow as an organization and continue to provide a strong culture. There's a recognition that there are a lot of opportunities for us to get better, but I think that's the first (and probably hardest) step in growth.
Cons
- I think we need to do a better job of investing in events and experiences for people within the office to interact outside of work - Personally, I wish there was more investment in the physical space we work in. We just moved offices 3 months ago, but where we are now, there wasn't a ton of emphasis seemingly placed on providing a visually appealing place to work in. Just a small thing though. - Communication and transparency is something that can always be improved and I think we're on the right path. Definitely still work to do on that end!
