Pros
Every other stressful job/life experience I have had thus far since leaving Xenometrics seems laughable compared to the sheer horror of being an employee there. I have found myself saying "well at least I'm not holding down pigs while they scream/squeal bloody murder" on a few occasions and that helps deal with the present stress believe it or not. In a weird way this is a pro.
Cons
-highest turnover rate I have ever seen or even heard of in a company (roughly 50% of the techs are gone in a year) -many people quit without having any job lined up (this is a huge red flag and indicative of the work environment) -the company works by bringing in very desperate, recently graduated biology/life science majors, and puts them through the wringer. The worst part is that they go through really shady recruiting agencies with recruiters that really over-hype this job and sell it to kids (because they are when you think about it) that don't know better. -The type of work here is stressful by its very nature and the worst part about that is rather than design a company that is aware and proactively trying to counteract this the higher-ups have just a "screw-it" type attitude and you will be used up quickly in order to make them lots of money. -The number of techs that feel burnout after about the 3-5 initial months has to be roughly 80-90% -If you are one of the few individuals that has a weird combination of a lack of self-worth and esteem yet a very strong work ethic and can tolerate sleep deprivation well then you might succeed here. However if you are capable of succeeding here you are more than qualified on paper or not to succeed virtually anywhere you would work in life. -If you do choose to work here and may god have mercy on your soul if you do. You might read these comments later and think "why the heck didn't I listen to these reviews?!" like so many other of us technicians. -There is a particular member of management that is a truly horrible individual. I have often wondered what he experienced in life or didn't in order to make him the way that he is. They stopped letting him interview interviewees as half of them would run for the door with tears in their eyes before the interview ended (this is not an exaggeration). It would be one thing is he was the very mean genius types but I don't feel he is one of those cases and is one of the members of top management.
