Pros
Aside from connecting with a few fun devs, best pro about this company is leaving it
Cons
Everything: - 5 star reviews on here are fake. I saw one that had "Pros: this company is awesome! Cons: I can only work 5 days" said no one ever... In the company, they're so desperate for a social media standing that they keep sending out emails of "please add this to your signature of your emails and post on LinkedIn" constantly. Just hire a marketing team! Also there is no HR here. Just basically an overworked woman or 2 handling everything. - This is a boomer company, nothing laid back about it. They just pretend to be hip and cool with no benefits and no fun. "We want you to have a work life balance , but we make you work on the weekends." Barely anyone is relatable here and just only work work work. - I've attended the winter parties over the years and it was so boring. They brag about hitting record goals for the company, but can't afford a decent salary, pay lunch breaks for any of the workers, and a week off of Christmas break. When the other founder (Steve?) sent out the email to everyone around Christmas time basically saying "thanks for working for the company around Christmas time, you made me and my wife happy", I cringed. Happy for them to enjoy their vacations while all of us had to work? We only had Christmas Eve and day off... Money hungry CEOs are not surprising... - I keep getting different instructions from the client and PMs of how to work on the project. It's like no one knows how to communicate here and they just blame you in the end. One thing from the PM of how this works and what to work on and the client says another thing. - No paid lunch breaks, no Christmas break. Only 10 paid holidays. Had a natural disaster happen to you? They tell you to use PTO for your "days off" or be unpaid. Thanks for looking out for your workers safety and security. - Devs are fighting with each other publicly in chat, overwriting each other's work. It's sad to see and annoying that it is happening constantly. One dev basically ruined a project I was on and we had to clean up after him multiple times that we lost count... This company loves to email everyone about the finished launched sites and whatever, but stayed quiet about ours since we miss the launch date by like a month all because of that one dev. I don't even know what happened to that project. No more stand-ups, meetings, nothing, but it's not my problem anymore when I did my part. The funny part is that dev is still hired after sabotaging that entire project... - They want to push you into another career path when you're working here. Immediately they want you to write blog posts or have another career choice within the company like being a PM, architect and wear multiple hats... But stayed quiet about an increase in salary. - PMs don't know what they are doing. They would push their duties onto others which is crazy?? Make story tickets for me and write out the acceptance criteria? What?? I'm a developer! That is clearly not my job that I was paid to do. Almost all my projects would keep switching PMs constantly. My recent hot headed PM on one of the projects kept saying profanity constantly on our stand up meetings ... Unprofessional - So many people leaving. This is a clear sign to not apply here. Beginning of January already over 15 people left. No sense of leadership and anything.
