Better companies to work for - Grant Writer Write On Fundraising Employee Review

Pros

Fully remote organization, although this isn't as much a pro anymore since most companies offer remote working. Some professional development offered.

Cons

High turnover, chaos at the beginning of the year with people quitting due to stress, only 10 days PTO, at-will employment meaning they can fire you without any reason or warning. Most people are there for under a year. CEO says they are a progressive company but at the end of the day, the work culture prioritizes revenue far more than employees.

Pros

Write On Fundraising is such a conducive environment for professional growth. Throughout my time here I have grown as a grant writer, then as a manager, and lastly as an organizational leader. The team at Write On understands that growth isn't always linear and works with employees individually to tailor make a trajectory that fits them. It has been so rewarding to grow personally and professionally while impacting dozens of unique nonprofits and missions.

Cons

The days aren't always easy and the work is extremely challenging. When you are working to grow capacity for dozens of nonprofits at a time sometimes the stress can rise and rise and rise; however, when you look back and you see that you and your teammates rose to the challenge and impacted some amazing missions and truly meaningful ways the sense of accomplishment is so fulfilling!

Pros

Working from home and nice coworkers.

Cons

The founder often assigns unnecessary tasks and presents herself as highly progressive, but she lacks an understanding of the staff's work.
