I worked at WorldRemit fot 3 years. In the beginning it was a vibrant workspace, truly innovative in the Fintech environment. The workforce was diverse and full of engaged staff, lots of ideas and collaboration and really pushing the business forward. unfortunately over my three years we started to see a serious decline in the business especially in HR largely attributed to poor leadership through misguided hiring.
No longer were we hiring people with a scale up mentality and more hiring of leadership who were far more interested in thier own career advancement than building great teams and fostering the culture that made WR so great. slowly people started to part ways with the business until we were left with a staff turnover unheard of in the industry.
Unfortunately WR has now been left with a perception of toxic work culture trumped only by incompetent and uncaring leadership. I hate to say it, but it has been very clearly cultivated as such.
I can only recommend to anyone thinking about joining WR to have serious second thoughts and research this business hard before making the decision to join.
That said, it is my hope that the board and shareholders realise the huge mistakes that have lead to its decline and act quickly to restore faith in the company.
