Friendly People, but Conflict Averse on Important Matters - Software Developer World Wide Technology Employee Review

Pros

People are very friendly, making the day-to-day work pleasant.

Cons

There is such a large emphasis on getting along that it is difficult to get anything other than positive verbal reinforcement. Everybody verbally tells you your ideas are great, and the only way that you know nobody likes it is when no action is taken or they tell someone else they don't like it and that person tells you. Don't get me wrong -- it's good to want to be friendly, but it's actually more frustrating when you think you're doing well when you're not and don't know why.

Thank you. I don't know what promises were made to you. Coaching is a very big deal here but so is treating people with respect. I'm sorry these weren't ideally balanced for you. Thanks again.

Pros

Remote work was nice. Pay and benefits were decent.

Cons

- Toxic, toxic, toxic - Zero work life balance - Lots of back stabbing going on. Too many management changes. Everyone has to claw for things in a negative way to get anywhere. - Bro culture and a company founder who prays and preaches at company meetings? That should NEVER happen. - No inclusivity. They say DEI is important but when the leaders are praying and seemingly right wing that doesn't reflect. - "Great Place to Work" is a total scam. They basically make you do it, talk about it constantly, remind you to take the surveys, even say how to rate. It's disingenuous. - Over-worked and ran PM's too thin, then when you get too burned out to do your job effectively you're not supported. I was running multiple projects during the day and had another project that required 12 am, 2am meetings as it was an Asian customer. I had no balance, no sleep, zero support. Instead of mitigating it, they wrote me up because I forgot something trivial (so trivial I don't even remember what it was). I was so stressed my hair literally fell out! I was so grateful to have another company headhunt me so that I could quit. TOXIC!
