Pros

-interesting program -some very bright talented staff

Cons

-no job security and this is regular brought up like a threat -toxic : unfair share of workload, management lies about reasons for decisions, regular uncompensated overtime expected, staff treated with no trust as if they’re stupid and lazy, some people get away with everything while others get crucified for small mistakes - sexist: men get away with making sexist comments even when reported, everyone has to follow the same rules but men can break them and women can’t, when women go on maternity leave their work is given to someone in a lower role and then the woman is not renewed when they come back -mismanagement: higher ups make decisions about direction with no idea of the work that has been done so the same things keep getting done over and over, managers waste time arguing with each other and you get told different things from different people, too many middle managers, research is run like a business which has ruined productivity, and poor planning and not listening to staff and results constantly leads to wasted money on implementing projects that fail, upper management enjoys expensive luxuries while talking about how cutting lower jobs is necessary because of lack of money

Pros

- Meaningful mission with an innovative method. You contribute to saving millions of lives of people. What's even greater than that? - Nice colleagues and project site staff to collaborate with - Opportunities to learn about different cultures when traveling to different project sites. - The nature of the work is not challenging. Balance working hours.

Cons

- Most of the top management team members are senior 50+ something hence the generation gap to work with. - Bureaucracy is strong there. The head of comms is excellent at playing politics but doesn't possess good leadership/people skills. Beware of his random tantrums and abusive remarks on a bad day. - Inefficient planning and unprofessional modus operandi. Imagine your work got approved and the Director completely forgot about it and finger-pointed at you the next day when his big boss was not happy with the proposal. Short memory issue perhaps!!!??? - It's whether you need to suck it and do your job then you can perform well there.
