Pros

- Quite ahead of the game in terms of technologies (the re-writing in their Technology Department was for cutting cost by switching over to free/open-source tools, not because they are behind). Great place for developers who want to learn and add the latest skills to their resume. - Friendly people where you might be able to make friends for life. - Recognition programs to motivate employees. - Lots of vacation days.

Cons

- Last year, they hired a few people who are very good at presenting themselves as passionate and innovative. They are usually great speakers and have lots of ideas (good or bad). However, they all failed to meet deadlines and cannot deliver. The projects they worked on dragged on for almost a year, people from other teams had to stop their work and help finish what they cannot finish. This added a lot of stress to the team-mates. They tried to let management know but since the managers are all fooled by their talks (and didn't see how they argued with co-workers on the most trivial things which is a waste of everyone's time or simply, they were too busy laughing at cat videos on YouTube/chatting on-line), they refused to listen. Eventually, the company lost a lot of money due to these incapable workers, and the fact that other capable people had to cover for them. - Company invested tons of money to sign a deal with a partner, and spent almost a year to let the in house technology team to integrate with the partner's product, thinking it's the next big thing. What they didn't see is they are totally targeting the wrong market and nobody wants to buy the product once it was done. The Marketing people who signed the deal were long gone and got another great job in another place, while the people left behind had to clean up the mess.
