Pros
- Plenty of Ownership (as time passes you will be given more and more responsibilities and be held accountable for a lot of things since there are not enough people to manage them) - Good scale and complexity of systems so you'll get good exposure on solving hard problems. You also get to work with modern tools and technologies - You'll work among the smartest of the people that'll help you grow in your career (if you're SDE-1 or SDE-Intern)
Cons
- Not much hike (~12% YOY) unless you are a star and bring a higher competing offer. No company benefits either. - Too much pressure and expectations - you'll consistently be expected to pull off work beyond your experience and paycheck. - High attrition and negligible number of experienced peers - Bad Culture. Focus is on efficiency over innvoation and process over people - Strict WFO and expectations to work beyond office hours and on weekends to meet stringent deadlines
