Pros

Wonolo has a really great mission to help people find work, but are lost in their way of getting there. Unlimited time off, to which many employees truly take advantage of. Yong Kim (CEO) is very inspirational and loves to connect with employees, when possible.

Cons

Sadly, there are more cons and pros. Leadership has no real strategy to success. They often come to company all-hands meetings with OKRs and KPIs that still need to be filled out. The company has gone through two RIFs and likes to cut a large number of ICs while leadership keeps their (very) well paid jobs. There is absolutely no accountability on leadership. Unqualified workers get put into management positions since they've been with the company for a long time, even though they have no idea what they are doing or how to lead/manage. This helps lead to the poor culture and poor management running the company, overall. Management does not like to be disagreed with. They promote healthy and respectful push back, but don't truly want that. Those that have pushed back have been let go, always. During the two RIFs, those who were cut often wished they had been so they could leave the disaster that is Wonolo and receive a healthy severance package. Lastly, there is no growth. No growth plan laid out and the only ones who are getting promoted to higher positions are managers and directors - to Sr. managers and directors. Wonolo was a different company 2-3 years ago but has sadly taken a steep dive downhill.

Pros

Work when you want to, IF they have any assignments.

Cons

Job board is filled with jobs that are NOT available, They call them waitlisted. What is the point of posting the job if they don't actually have an opening. Previously a job showed up when they actually had an opening and someone would select it and complete the assignment. Now it says they have 30 jobs available. but they DON'T. I believe they're doing this to make their numbers look good since they lost so many contracts. I heard it was for price gouging. Not surprised.
