Cons
I strongly recommend against working here if you are in a support or operations role (HR, supply chain, distribution centers, IT, etc.). These areas are underfunded, unappreciated, and poorly led. Leaders in support functions seem disconnected from the work their teams do and lack the ability to advocate effectively for them at executive and board meetings. As a result, these teams are left without the recognition or resources they need. If you are interested in working with the brands, you might have a better experience—provided you know someone on the inside. Qualifications alone won’t get you in, especially with The Collective (their internal agency). Connections are crucial, and you’ll likely need to be on a first-name basis with the VP to secure a spot. Lastly, don’t be misled by talk of ‘promoting from within.’ They’ll post roles externally, only to later promote internally when they realize they can pay existing employees below market rates and frame it as ‘career growth.’ It’s disappointing to see people who have dedicated their careers here without fully realizing that Wolverine is paying them below market.
