As a grad you don't get a say in what team you end up getting assigned, get the impression that this is based on the managers personal feelings and internal biases towards the grads and not their previous technical experience. A disgrace if you've spent a fortune on going back to university to upskill in one thing to only be forced down a different path. There are grads more qualified to do the more technical roles than those hired to do said roles.
