Pros
- The work itself is great. Awesome clients, awesome product and industry, amazing people. Four stars based solely on the work you can do. - Product is pretty awesome. - Individual teams are fantastic. - The VP of Product, Evan Melick, is by far the best people leader I've ever seen. Their CS VP, Ryan White, is also great. - Fully remote with no expectation to go into the office *unless you work for Operations.
Cons
- The entire organization is so sales-centric, so hyper-focused on making sure Intertek's bottom line is met, that nothing can get done. For two years now, no real growth has happened across the company – no backfill, no team growth or new hires. You cannot get a raise, period, except for 2% annually, unless you get a promotion into management. - As a whole, there is no growth opportunity here. This is a fantastic beginner-to-mid-level job, but you'll reach your tenure at about 3 years, because there's a glass ceiling. - For the amount of revenue they bring in, they do nothing for employees. No bonuses or commission unless you're in Sales. I can't even get a $50 gift for a departing coworker approved, because that's too expensive apparently. The benefits are incredibly lackluster, and are being held down with an iron fist by both Intertek's vice-grip on the company's finances, and Wisetail's operations manager + president combo. - Recently, really leaning into the 'do as i say' culture where, when our president needs something, she gets it no matter what. It's become very toxic this year.
