Pros
Kids are fantastic, you feel good about the work you are doing, colleagues are great, teams are small so your superiors are accessible and usually helpful
Cons
Stressful. High work load for LOW pay. A lot of guesswork judgment calls that you will have to make in the moment sometimes without training. Hours are never stable. Hard to keep full time hours with families canceling. Company has a high turnover rate so changes will happen frequently. Unless you have an applicable degree there is a ceiling that you can hit promotion wise. Upper management disconnected, and only focused on the bottom line. Unwilling to make sacrifices to help out their line staff. Career opportunities dry up the higher you go as positions aren't created and people basically have tenure.
