Pros
Great co-workers. There are great people that work here and they can make the company a fun place to be. Sometimes there are free Winder products in the office, and employees get discounts on home delivery service.
Cons
It takes forever to hire anyone outside of sales. They hire door-to-door salesmen like crazy, but it takes months for them to hire anyone for the office jobs. This leads to responsibilities getting shunted over to other, existing employees, creating overloaded workers. Frequently when an office employee quits, the senior management needs to "evaluate" whether they need to hire a new person for that position. This takes months. Basically, they attempt to see if they can dump the responsibilities of that employee onto other employees, and then when things start to fall apart they frantically hire someone. Many people are overworked, especially in Finance and IT (our IT guy is crazy busy). The benefits are, frankly, terrible. A high-deductible health plan (there's only one option) that still has ridiculously high premiums; it makes you wonder if Winder is actually contributing much at all. PTO is also ridiculously low, I've seen similar positions with at least twice as much. All in all I frequently get the feeling that the company is falling apart - there is high turnover and it seems like there's always someone in the office who "just quit" or was "just hired". Additionally, frequently the company seems to try to keep employees working even after they leave - people leave but then are still contacted frequently because the company didn't hire anyone soon enough for them to get trained. I can't really recommend working here in good conscience, although it's too bad because I feel like it has the potential to be a great environment, but poor management decisions are harming that. I also don't feel like the company is headed in a good direction - I'd be surprised if it's still around in 10 to 15 years.
