AVOID - High turnover, low pay, toxic culture - Account Manager Wilson Hartnell Employee Review

Pros

Some great colleagues who genuinely support each other You’ll quickly learn resilience and how to manage unreasonable workloads

Cons

Extremely high turnover – people are leaving nearly every week. Long hours and overtime are constantly expected, with no real work-life balance. Overtime is only “given back” if it’s on weekends, which defeats the purpose. Pay is low for the workload and responsibilities. Very few benefits compared to industry standards. Senior management are detached, show little care for staff, and face no accountability. Feedback is dismissed or pushed back onto employees rather than being acted upon. Overall toxic environment where people are overworked and undervalued.

Pros

- Super interesting clients - Learned how to work in a fast paced environment - Met some amazing colleagues - Learned resilience & time management - Gained some incredible opportunities

Cons

- Really poorly organised team structures & constantly under resourced - Truely made me question my self esteem (the anxiety I got from working here was unmatched) - Poor salary for the responsibilities and stress you have to endure

Pros

Big name brands. Great work is done (even if it's at the expense of employees).

Cons

On the slide. Basically best at Consumer, Health, and Sport PR and if they could they'd dump everyone else. Head of Corporate left a while ago and they're still trying to find a replacement but not exactly rushing the process. Head of Lifestyle left too and they're mixing the team in with Consumer. Ogilvy Advertising has been decimated and now just a few of people. Apparently it used to be a thriving building and big team, and now as I said mainly focuses on Consumer (which is where the CEO used to work surprise surprise), Sport, and Healthcare. Sport is the best unit of them all, Health has seen its entire team turnover I think twice in the couple of years I was there, which is not a good look. Consumer is very successful but leaders are extreme micromanagers, pay is bad, and staff attrition is considered part of the job. The company used to be one of the best in business a while back, and still carries that attitude, even though others are now leagues ahead at least in terms of work/life balance.
