- Pay
Pay is nominal. This company pays "competitively", because it is completing with the rest of Southern Utah for lower wages. There is an unspoken rule in this region that companies should not offer outstanding wages because as long as no one does, no one will have to. I would like to see a company offer nationally competitive wages, not just regionally. After all we do live in a global economy where fuel and groceries cost the same here as anywhere.
- Healthcare
Although Wilson just revamped their entire benefits package, and offers HSA contributions, the monthly premiums are prohibitive. I don't see how it would be possible for 70 to 80 percent of Wilson employees to afford $400.00 a month for family health premiums. I know that for myself and some of my colleges who are by no means on the bottom end of the Wilson pay scale this amount is not within our budget.
- Future Uncertainty
Wilson Electronics was recently purchased by a capital equity firm, and all cap firms have an exit strategy. This leaves questions about long term stability.
