Firstly thank you very much for taking the time to review WR. We value past and present employees’ feedback so it’s helpful that you have written such an in-depth review and we will take on board your comments.
It’s great that you appreciated the free lunches – they are a generous benefit and are definitely not a standard perk! Thank you for noting the salaries too, though I would have to disagree that they are average, having benchmarked our salaries against local and national competitors, I am confident we offer a very competitive basic salary, and comp and bens packages. The Christmas shut down is important for us as it means our employees can spend time with their families and take a well-deserved rest ready to come back fresh for the New Year.
Having read your cons I feel you are being a little unfair on us, given that we have made significant investments for our Whiteonians this year. For example, we invested in a brand new CRM system that allows you to work more efficiently, and we are developing this tool as we speak to make it even more so. We also invested in Northstar as a performance management tool, to allow employees and managers to clearly see performance – successes and progression areas – and also to increase a bit of healthy competition! We also have a new HR team who are working on various employee initiatives, such as wellbeing, employee voice and motivational strategies to name a few.
I particularly feel your comments about the company vision and structure are unfair. We recently announced our company vision for the next 3 years as well as our brand new values – but perhaps you had already left before this was presented? I also don’t think this is related to our company turnover, we had a healthy amount of attrition in 2018 and in fact exit interviews do not reflect your views at all.
I personally don’t see the issue of praising high performers. I think I would want to learn how our top billers earn their success, and particularly if I was a new starter within recruitment; knowledge-sharing is invaluable to success.
In regards to the commission structure, as I mentioned previously this has been benchmarked and is actually very generous in comparison to our competitors. It’s interested you say that it is demotivating seeing as it’s meant to do the opposite - our recruiters have the ability to earn about a third of their sales & there is no cap - not many of our competitors can match that! We are always striving to be better though and in fact, our HR team are actually looking in to employee motivation currently and would welcome your comments regarding the commission structure – please feel free to get in touch and share these thoughts – 02392 849905.
Perhaps the flexi-Friday wasn’t made clear enough and for that I can only apologise. Flexi-Friday is for those that have hit their interview target for the week, no early start necessary, however if you haven’t hit that target then it would be expected that the same hours are worked in order for you to leave early. It’s unfortunate if you were unable to benefit from this but we think it’s fair - if you hit target, you’re rewarded for it.
I know there are some point of yours that I have not addressed, but I feel this response is getting quite long. I would be more than happy to discuss each individual point with you directly if you would like to but if not, I wish you all the best in your career.
