Pros
Great team members and operational staff are Western Power's biggest asset. Good benefits and flexibility. 2 days WFH for office staff is standard but some teams are different.
Cons
Western Power talks a big game when it comes to safety but when push comes to shove senior leadership will take safety risks for schedule, even when ahead of schedule with an attitude of 'just get it done'. Staff and contractors are put under immense psychological pressure to deliver early and take risks that no one should have to, including pressure to build and energise HV assets without final design drawings or protection settings. Leadership will never put this in writing and will never take accountability but you will be bullied and belittled until you comply or you will all of a sudden have opportunities taken from you or you are forced/bullied out. This poor behaviour is not the only instance, with further unethical and unconscionable conduct such as threatening to 'tear up' executed contracts with small businesses who could not meet desired schedules despite the delays being caused by Western Power.
