Pros
One of the best things about WF is that I can be myself at work, I can say what I think and feel, even to most supervisors, including my own. The employees there are all great people. Lots of contractors keep coming back "because of the people here". The work is challenging, and for the most part management and co-workers notice when you do a good job. In other words, getting ahead seems to be based more on the job you do than who your friends are. And people go out of their way to give credit to others for their work and their ideas. Although most people work really hard, work life balance is still recognized as important.
Cons
I don't think that there are any unusual downsides other than those that one would find in any company - sometimes groups get stuck in their silos and it's very difficult to get things done across different groups. Also sometimes management expectations are unrealistic about how much work they can shove down the pipeline. And although most people are team players and good to work with, that's not true for everybody, and sometimes people can get petty about their little silo. But, this is pretty much the case in all companies. Overall it is much better than most, I think.
