The pay is terrible. There are no benefits (no holiday pay which Karen won’t tell you until you’re hired), no health insurance. No parking. So, show up 15 minutes early to find it and good luck. And that’s surface level. Internally, the CEO (who is also, somehow, the director though she offers no support or stability), is outrageously mean, blames you for everything, and tries to turn the teachers against each other. Licensing came more than 5 times during my time there and after every single visit, she’s corner me and ask me if I reported on her, what I said when they spoke to me, and tried to gaslight me into believing licensing is the enemy and that they’re a joke. Out of ratio constantly and when you tell her that, even if she’s aware, she won’t hire a sub or assist in the room (and if she does come in the room, all she does is take videos of the kids for social media, doesn’t actually help). She cuts hours haphazardly, never guaranteeing you the hours you ask for. She has no sense of boundaries or respect for her staff even though her teachers are the reason why parents come by and are even slightly comfortable with leaving their kids there.
Simply, it’s the most toxic environment I have ever worked in and I wish I’d known before I accepted my position (which she didn’t even interview me for—just hired me on the spot because she was short staffed).
