Pros

colleague support for one another

Cons

The WRAP of old is no more. Once an organisation with a solid foundation of staff, it is now so top heavy it's surprising it hasn't already toppled over. After 2 "restructures" - rounds of redundancy - in 2 years, where those who do the work have been culled, there's not much of WRAP left. The heads of and SLT are so detached from the rest of the staff that very few of them seem to comprehend what it is to do the actual work. Will WRAP even exist this time next year?... (NB - Harriet Lamb is no longer the CEO)

Pros

Flexible working arrangements are genuinely good, many line managers are supportive, and the pension offering is solid.

Cons

Layoffs - though politely branded as “restructures”—have become something of an annual tradition. At the same time, there seems to be a hiring freeze for the people actually doing the work, while the leadership layer somehow continues to expand above director level. The executive team appears consistently out of its depth when it comes to navigating the current economic climate, and the pattern repeats: questionable decisions followed by the consequences landing squarely on staff. Career progression is limited, and the pay is on the low side even by NGO standards, especially when you factor in the workload, which tends to be… generous. If you’re weighing up other options and are only considering WRAP as one of them, it’s probably safe to assume you’ll find a better deal elsewhere.
