The 'Work Hard Play Harder' corporate lifestyle is very real. They know how to have fun and do it very often. Lots of evens to attend and lots of fun to be had. Until you reach the individual site level. Sites and fleets are in terrible shape. At a site level the "Work Hard Play Harder" culture does not exist. It's "work 24/7." Call out sick? You're working. Taking vacation? You're working remotely. 2 am on a holiday? Answer your phone. At a site level, the "play harder" just becomes "work more." Corporate likes to give gifts, great benefits, and a wonderful employee stock bonus plan, but the day to day with poor management who aren't held accountable for their constant buffoonery that usually involve incidents and property damage it's beyond stressful. No matter what proof you have they want to dismiss everything and shift the focus onto numbers. This from the company who literally put "safety" on the stock market.
