Pros

This place will put you through hell. If you can survive your time here, you can handle pretty much anything.

Cons

This company is such a mess. It's run by homogeneous narcissists who would rather run the business into the ground than admit that they made a bad decision. The internal squabbling is out of control and paralyzes attempts to get the customers what they need in a timely manner. There is no training, and you're left hoping desperately that anyone new that comes in will be able to adapt quickly, because otherwise you'll be doing their work and yours until they inevitably get tired of the culture and quit. To make matters worse, the pay and benefits are horrible and in no way make up for the hell they put you through. There are also safety issues (both physical and emotional) and an incredible amount of nepotism (in fact, this company is a perfect example of why nepotism is so very bad for business).

Pros

Wasserstrom has a strong core of long‑tenured associates, which speaks to both the stability of the company and the quality of the work environment. The average associate tenure is over a decade, and with more than 123 years in business, there is a deep sense of history, craftsmanship, and commitment across the organization. Many associates have built long careers here, contributing deep knowledge and a genuine willingness to mentor, collaborate, and support one another. One of the company’s unique strengths is the close connection between the corporate office and the shop floor. Having these teams physically and operationally connected creates strong alignment, real‑time collaboration, and a shared sense of ownership in the work being done. While the company values its traditions, it is also forward‑thinking and continues to invest in innovation, process improvements, and new ways of doing business. Turnover is low, associates take pride in what they build, and it shows in both the quality of the work and the overall culture. Leadership is approachable, teamwork is encouraged, and there is a clear emphasis on safety, consistency, and continuous improvement. Associates are given opportunities to learn, grow, and build lasting careers while contributing to a company that continues to evolve and innovate.

Cons

Because the company has many long‑serving associates and established processes, the environment may feel more structured or traditional for those who prefer constant change.
