Pros

The pro of working at Walgreens, you are standing behing a big name. you get a discount on almost everything in the store. 15% on non-walgreens product, and 20% on walgreens product. Average like most companies 2 week vacations after the first year, profit sharing is okay, and discounts on the stocks.

Cons

It really depends on the district/markets you are in as well as what store managers you have. Store management for Indianapolis is very poor. The communication is terrible, the training is terrible, very few store managers hold any type of degree, but degrees are now required for advancement. Back stabbing is just terrible, you are told from management how to disipline your employees, and when confronted from employees, the upper management plays it off. The support is just down right disgusting. You can be a very hard worker and very supportive in trying to help upper management, but you are not supported if you dont know everything, in most cases the store managers dont even know everything. Consist changes throughout the stores, as far always moving the same products form location to location, this gets out of hand. You are pretty much just a glorified stock person with a tie. Walgreens is a good company, it just depends on the loaction/market/district you are in. Thier are far way too many Store managers that hold this title, that shouldnt.

Pros

The management is accommodating and doesn't ask of to much.

Cons

At one point the heat was out during the winter, but i'll say that this was only for about a week.

Pros

Gave me decent pay. Bought us little gifts and food at holidays.

Cons

Gave away one of my paychecks to another employee and refused to reimburse me because of issues with "their bank." My RxM created a hostile work environment showing clear favoritism for employees. Eventually, HR got involved, and I was no longer scheduled with him. I did not ask for this change, and actively resented it, because now I had fewer hours, meaning less pay on top of the $500 corporate had already stolen from me. They had no interest in training me or anyone else to become certified as promised. Over and over again, they hired people, ran out the time on their licenses, and let techs choose between paying to get certified elsewhere, or losing their jobs. The only thing Walgreens was passionate about was convincing patients that they couldn't even provide their regular medications to get vaccines. Often unneeded. The "patient care" calls are blatant and illegal marketing for vaccines, since Walgreens makes it next to impossible for a patient to opt out of it. I would NEVER get my medications here after seeing how poorly everything is managed, how unethical company policies and patient health were regarded, and how mistreated the staff were.
