Pros

Nice 15 % discount and was great opportunity to move up in the company. I started out as an assistant beauty advisor and after a few years was the senior advisor. There was a small raise and perks such as a regular schedule and dibs on free product etc. But what I didn't expect was that becoming the Sr advisor I was overworked and underappreciated. They want you to sell as if you are at a fancy cosmetics counter but also do the leg work of unloading a truck and cleaning the department, so if you get caught up in one the other suffers but both are your responsibility and the rest of your team skates by, getting praise for doing a ton of work on resets or doing a ton of sales. Reorganization of leadership and management is almost always taking place, I was there four years and saw about 4 different titles and responsibilities for the 3 main people above me. However, the stores that work as a team are really a joy to work at if you don't mind long hours and you have a lot of patience. A lot of people started on front register and were assistant managers by the time I left, which is a healthy pay raise, albeit a lot of work. All in all like anywhere it just depends on people. Walgreens as a whole is a pretty nice company to deal with

Cons

Ten hour shifts for just 9$ an hour job plus commission is a little extreme, responsibilities always changing, rules and regulations seem to shift frequently, managers so overwhelmed with workload they don't have time to train people properly or address problems

Pros

The management is accommodating and doesn't ask of to much.

Cons

At one point the heat was out during the winter, but i'll say that this was only for about a week.

Pros

Gave me decent pay. Bought us little gifts and food at holidays.

Cons

Gave away one of my paychecks to another employee and refused to reimburse me because of issues with "their bank." My RxM created a hostile work environment showing clear favoritism for employees. Eventually, HR got involved, and I was no longer scheduled with him. I did not ask for this change, and actively resented it, because now I had fewer hours, meaning less pay on top of the $500 corporate had already stolen from me. They had no interest in training me or anyone else to become certified as promised. Over and over again, they hired people, ran out the time on their licenses, and let techs choose between paying to get certified elsewhere, or losing their jobs. The only thing Walgreens was passionate about was convincing patients that they couldn't even provide their regular medications to get vaccines. Often unneeded. The "patient care" calls are blatant and illegal marketing for vaccines, since Walgreens makes it next to impossible for a patient to opt out of it. I would NEVER get my medications here after seeing how poorly everything is managed, how unethical company policies and patient health were regarded, and how mistreated the staff were.
