Pros

Located in the center of the city.

Cons

Academic misconduct has become systemic and natural at Westminster International University in Tashkent, that colleagues talking about it are fired. Hence the administrative personnel turnover is high. University administration is increasing the intake of students every year. The total number of students exceeds the carrying capacity of the university. University has a problem with cash flow, leading to the massive firing of foreign professionals despite the increasing number of students. It has had four rectors during its 19 years history. The first rector has made a career as a presidential advisor on youth, science, and education. He is an in-law of the richest oligarch and mayor of the capital and represents the most influential clan in Uzbekistan. He is also fulfilling the vacant role of an advisor in appointing public officials. The advisor has established his private Westminster International School in Tashkent, collaborating with the University of Westminster in London by sealing a very suspicious deal. A UK university supervises a private school in Tashkent following the agreement. https://www.westminster.ac.uk/sites/default/public-files/styles/panel_image_1_2_768px_/public/general-images/dr-peter-bonfield-professor-alex-hughes-wiut-campus.jpg?itok=pcpCzqH7 Besides the private school, the advisor administers the WIUT as his private university. He directs the rector of WIUT even on day-to-day operations. To get his orders executed, the advisor appoints inept people as a rector of WIUT. The advisor then enjoys rent from WIUT, starting from kickbacks to construction and maintenance and ending with obtaining tuition waivers for his relatives and friends, including a 100% discount for his in-law family, the country's wealthiest family. The advisor terminates the investigation of any misconduct of the rector in case of being revealed. The prosecutor's office had to close the file after the advisor intervened in the case below, where the rector offered a waiver to the advisor’s friends’ family, and family of his in-laws. https://comments.bot/thread/ybGsae0W6

Pros

It is a good place in Central Asia. It is not very costly and is economical. The people are welcoming, and the salary is handsome.

Cons

Competence hold no weight — all are in the same boat. The horse runs, the donkey stumbles, yet both are treated alike, with no care for competence.
