Pros

Most people that work for WHOOP are all in on making a difference in the health/wellness of others. Benefits packages are top tier and consistent with the tech marketing in Boston and beyond.

Cons

Most of the creative powers that be do not work/live in US. 99% of leadership have never worked at companies outside of WHOOP or have any other work experience outside of this company. Lots of growth for them due to being a "founding" employee, but leaves a huge bottleneck for others who want to grow @WHOOP. Serious lack of people leadership and empathy within the c suite and SVP level- huge egos driving the results of the company. Lack of diversity across the board on all levels. Interested in working with other white men your age (31) this is the company for you! Engineers are expected to work over 40 hours a week and have a backlog of projects that go into a to do list, but never get done. Makes it incredibly hard to be agile in a tech environment.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience at WHOOP. We’re happy to hear that you appreciate the passion and dedication of the team at WHOOP, and we are proud to have a workforce committed to positively impacting the health and wellness of others. We also take pride in offering top-tier benefits packages that are competitive and in line with the tech market in Boston and beyond. Regarding your feedback about the need for more diversity in leadership, we recognize the importance of diverse perspectives and experiences at all company levels. While we do not entirely agree with your assessment of diversity at WHOOP, we do acknowledge that there is always room to improve our DE&I strategy and initiatives - and this is a significant priority for the company as we understand that a diverse and inclusive workplace is crucial for fostering creativity, innovation, and overall employee satisfaction. We’re concerned that you interacted with folks in leadership positions who lacked empathy and did not maintain a people-centered approach to supervision. If you are open to engaging in a live-format discussion about this and your other feedback. Please contact us at people@whoop.com to schedule time with a People Business Partner. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The CEO appears to have a clear and compelling long term vision. The product has strong brand loyalty and a passionate user base.

Cons

Internal politics and misaligned priorities can slow progress and decision making. Some decisions do not appear to be grounded purely in what is best for the user or product. Development cycles can feel long, sometimes taking 2 to 3 years for meaningful product evolution. Several larger departments appear to lack a well balanced mix of experienced, merit driven, and deeply knowledgeable contributors, which can lead to disconnects between teams and ultimately show up in the product. Egos and internal agendas at times overshadow collaboration and product focused thinking.
