Pros

The vast majority of people here are brilliant, kind, funny and hardworking. This is especially evident if you are ever standing around in the big, beautiful kitchen. People are always offering advice, sharing stories and plenty of tasty treats. It's also not unusual to find a musician practicing in there before going on-air. The programming side of the org is absolutely stellar, and the committment to journalistic integrity is top-notch.

Cons

The general manager is very charismatic and and motivating; the same can't always be said for the rest of senior management, however. The revenue side of the org is very political, and the pressure to perform is enormous. I have been told on several occasions to watch my back because of the "toxic culture." There is no room for advancement (dispite promises to the contrary made in the interview process). Work-life balance is more of a dream than a reality, and anyone who is in a position below the executive level is treated like a drone, dispite this being where the vast majority of the institutional knowledge and creativity lies.
