Pros

Generous PTO and Good Benefits

Cons

Hired for one position and thrown into another position without any say. Terrible training that does not prepare one for the work they'll be doing. Managers are dishonest. Too much work for what they're paying.

Pros

Stable and secure job. I worked for the Voya's client, the NYC Deferred Compensation plan. Benefits-wise I had the best of both worlds; while I was officially a Voya employee, I also felt treated like a NYC employee.

Cons

While I enjoyed a good sense of stability and security partly because we were treated like unionized NYC employees (despite being Voya employees and subject to Voya benefits), at the end of the day, it was a call center job where typically everyday is mundane and as far as career progression goes there is no end in sight. To add to that we always had our share of disgruntled frustrated NYC employees and retirees alike. We were watched closely and every minute counted towards our overall adherence. There was no way to achieve a perfect average handle time as some of the participants we dealt with were difficult and required more research into their issues. As far as any time off goes i.e. PTO docs appts etc it was dependent on whether the day was available and then only management approves it. If not and we really needed the day off due to a personal event, there was little to no room for compromise.

Pros

The benefits were great but the salary sucked butt, so I’m not sure we can even call this a win. If great benefits come at the expense of a low salary, is that really a net gain? No. It’s opportunity cost.

Cons

DO NOT & I mean it: DO NOT WORK FOR VOYA. The leadership is running the org into the bloomin ground. They’ve had countless layoffs in the last 3 years. If you’re part of any business that Voya acquires, they’ll feed you the slop of “oh no, you’ll retain your jobs and be part of the Voya family” LIES. All lies. The last 4 companies they’ve acquired, they cut roughly 75% of personnel from each. All while dumping the workload on those left behind. Clients are catching on to it too. It’s not boding well for reputation. They clearly think their own clients are idiots. Those of us who are out as so happy to be. Total fever dream working for them. As others have stated, those left behind at Voya are absolutely miserable and looking to jump ship too.
