Pros
- Always learning something - High degree of autonomy - Sense of ownership and responsibility - Fun crew, games, gatherings, beer and darts - Work hard and show you're trying, your skills will be continually developed - Work directly with clients - Variety of technology and business silos - Always treated with respect and can speak directly with management at any time
Cons
- You are expected to pull your weight each week - Client work ebbs and flows, sometimes you have to dredge through "boring" work - On-boarding process seems to feel rough for some new employees who are used to a corporate environment; you have to get yourself going instead of having things handed to you. I would mostly recommend to self-starters who can power through the initial phase and adapt as they go. - Smaller sized business, not much in the way of career paths outside of development
