Pros
The people were nice and when things were working, they worked smoothly, but that was rare in my experience.
Cons
When I was originally contracted in 2018 I was told It was possible to make 15-20k a year. I made about enough the first year to barely pay off the lens I bought to shoot with them. I assumed it was growing pains in 2018 and brushed it off, thinking 2019 would be more fruitful.
In March 2019 I emailed management seeing if I could knock the 8 months of cobwebs out after a long absence before peak season started. It took until Late May to finally get into a shoot.
Summer 2019 was very much the same as 2018. Spotty bookings, lots of start-stop, lots of canceled bookings with no notifications.
In my 2019 shadowing, management made it sound like I could expect a higher shoot volume and be working more consistently year round. I was also told I would be getting set up with a 3d Scan camera and would be set up with an electronic key, both of these items were never followed up on and was confirmed that it affected the amount of bookings I recieved. The volume of bookings ended up to not be true as from June to September 2019 I only photographed 14 houses, no electronic key, no 3d camera, It was pretty clear to me at this point I was being fed false expectations.
After going 6 weeks in peak season (July-September) with no bookings and finally reaching out and seeing what the deal was, only to be told my virtually empty calendar was effecting when I could be booked. I had 5 week days blocked off in late July-August, I don't know how this could effect my bookings as much as it seemed to have. To me this was strange because if the volume I was told was going to increase this year, I expected there to be more bookings regardless of other days I blocked for other contract work.
In early September I had 6 shoots cancel within 18 hours of the shoot over the course of 4 days. The other problem being that there is no way that they alert you if a house cancels and there is no cancelation fees, basically throwing your day into total disarray. They just remove it from your calendar and expect that you are attached to your phone 24/7 to check your schedule. This was my breaking point. I work for other contractors and this could have greatly affected my bookings with others.
After airing my grievances to management, it took 4 days for the initial email to be responded to and another 12 to not receive a follow up to response when I decided I was better off not waiting around for them, but only 12 hours for them to promptly, not respond to that email, but instead to just freeze my company email account. Thus ending my time with Vizzi.
Overall my experience with vizzi was not good. The communication was awful and clearly there needs to be more help in middle management as they are probably swamped. I'm disappointed as I really wanted to grow with this company, learn the ins and outs and try to become full time as opposed to a contractor. I had drive to grow and learn. But I felt ignored and disrespected towards the end.
