Pros
* Decent benefits for a small company * Some nice colleagues (be careful what team you join) * Entrepreneurial culture
Cons
If you are looking at working at Visual Connections as a full time or contract employee, seriously evaluate what team you will join. There is one program team that is managed by a paranoid, authoritarian bully. You may enjoy a decent honeymoon period while watching the bully target and tear down a colleague. Eventually, this bully will target you and will make your life miserable until you quit or get fired. You can be a seasoned professional and still be made to feel like an incompetent and stupid person. Much of this abuse is cloaked as mentorship or productive feedback when it really is suffering a verbal tirade where your self-worth and job security is threatened. On top of it, this very smart bully records and writes down conversations with you as if building a case against you. This is a terrible working environment and I find myself still mentally recovering from the abuse. This pattern has not changed and has caused nearly constant turnover over the past couple of years on this team. For whatever reason, leadership and HR has allowed this toxic environment and bullying continue over several years.
