Pay is very good compared to other retailers. Discount is good and can also be used at Bath & Body Works and Henri Bendel. Benefits are comparable to other retailers.

Where do I begin... This company stresses that it is a customer centric culture, however this is the most operational driven place I have ever been employed at. Three coverage in a 10,000 square foot store on most days with 100 things to get accomplished with NO PAYROLL! Shoplifting is OUT OF CONTROL! Groups of regular shoplifters come in on a daily basis, steal thousands of dollars of merchandise, and then return it for merchandise credit that they will then sell on e-bay or to a local pawn shop. Loss prevention and district management are absolutely no help with these issues because they are so afraid of getting sued or offending someone. My store manager was a great manager, but most others are lazy, gossipy, dram queens, and never do any actual work because "coaching and developing" is there focus. By the way, coaching and developing at Victoria's Secret basically means that if you are a store manager or a district manager's favorite, you do nothing but talk on the phone and gossip about other people in the district. Associates are paid barely above minimum wage but expected to perform as though they are a commissioned sales person in a high end department store or boutique. Associates are belittled and "coached" by managers to the point that they either quit or start telling all their friends to come in and steal anything they want because they are so dissatisfied with the company. Promotion from the associate to management level is a joke. For example, an associate in my store had been with the company for 5 years and just got promoted to a supervisor position where she is making $10.50 per hour and only works 32-37 hours per week. This person is more than qualified to be a manager and could easily go to work for another retailer making double what she makes now, but stays with Victoria's Secret because of the hope that she will get promoted. OSAT (the survey that prints out at the bottom of your receipt) is too big of a focus. Customers don't understand how the scoring works and basically just do the survey to get a $10 off coupon. What they don't get is that part of our annual review is based on our OSAT score. Recovering the store is a nightmare! Consider yourself lucky if you are out of the store by 11 p.m. on a weeknight (the store closes at 9). Panty fixtures have almost 10,000 pairs of panties on them and have to be folded, sized, and colorized every night. People absolutely destroy the store when shopping here. Limited Brands has become such a "coupon" and "free with purchase" company that no one wants to buy anything without having a discount or getting something for free. I cannot tell you how many times I have been screamed at by someone when we run out of a tote bag that is free with a $75 purchase. Nothing is confidential within the store or the district. The best way to test this is to tell a manager something and ask them not to repeat it and then wait for the texts to start blowing up your cell phone from other managers who are telling you what you just shared with that manager.
